Riccardo Iacono (b. 1969) is a London-based artist working with abstract film, digital animation, video collage, painting, performance, installation.
He studied Painting at Glasgow School of Art (1988-91) and Electronic Imaging at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee (2000-01). His work has shown widely including STV (1995/6), Channel 4 (1997/9) and Sky TV (1998); A Century of Artists Film in Britain, Tate Britain (2003); and European Media Art Festival, Osnabruuck (2007).
Iacono was nominated for a Paul Hamlyn Foundation Visual Arts Award in 2004. He was awarded a 5-year live/work residency at Acme Fire Station, East London in 2005. In 2007 he was Animate Projects' Artist in Residence at London College of Commmunication. He was also resident artist at Lucca Film Festival. His work has recently featured in the exhibitions Transcentric at Lethaby Gallery, Central St Martins (2008) and Dead Fingers Talk, IMT Gallery, East London (2010).
